Federal EVV requirements cover Medicaid-funded personal care and home health services, but a green clock-in icon is only the beginning. An audit-ready visit should connect the patient, caregiver, service, location, date, start and end time—plus every correction.
Test the exceptions, not just the happy path. What happens when a phone is offline, GPS is unavailable, a caregiver starts late or a supervisor edits the record? The reason, original value, new value, time and approver should remain visible.
EVV should verify care without turning the home into a surveillance scene. Collect what the rule requires, protect it, and make unusual activity explainable.
