CMS finalized removal of the COVID-19 vaccination measure and several OASIS assessment items tied to living situation, food and utilities. A shorter form can help—but only if the old fields actually disappear from the workflow.
Check every place those items may survive: mobile assessments, review queues, exports, training screenshots and internal checklists. Do not hard-code one permanent field list. The form version, effective date and patient episode should determine what the clinician sees.
Removing a question from the official instrument while leaving it in three internal templates is not compliance. It is clutter with a longer life than the rule that created it.
